Local firm completes work at Carnes Crossroads senior living building

Frampton Construction Co. LLC wrapped up work late this summer at a new 100-unit locale for older residents near Summerville.

The Blake at Carnes Crossroads is opening off U.S. Highway 17A in the emerging master-planned community. Sitting on a 3.7-acre site at the property’s front gate, the 84,000-square-foot building is the Charleston-based contractor’s third facility for Blake Management Group in South Carolina. Sister operations are The Blake at Woodcreek Farms in Elgin and The Blake at Edgewater in Indian Land.

Carnes Crossroads eventually will feature hundreds of homes as well as medical offices, shops and restaurants. Dozens of homes, amenities, a school, parks and a church have been built in the 2,500 acre community, developed by Daniel Island Co.

Construction of The Blake at Carnes Crossroads began in spring 2016. Frampton Construction joined with Cardinal Ventures, a senior living developer from Ridgeland, Mississippi, and parent of Blake Management Group.

The group pledges “senior housing excellence” through developing top-notch communities that provide high-end housing, wellness, dietary and activities. The facilities are designed to enhance residents’ dignity and quality of life. Blake Management Group focuses on offering luxurious, home-like communities with resort style perks.

Daugherty began volunteering at a local assisted living community at the age of 8 and has not looked back since. Much like Daugherty, Crane has had a heart for the senior population from a young age when she would volunteer at the nursing home where her mother was a nurse. Upon graduation from East Carolina University in 2007, she went to work for the Gaston County Department of Social Services and has remained in senior care ever since. Crane is an active member of the Low Country Senior Network and is devoted to ensuring our senior population is being cared for, which makes her a perfect fit for The Blake at Carnes Crossroads.

The Blake is prominently located in the Carnes Crossroads development at 4015 2nd Avenue. The on-site sales center is now open and can be found directly across from Northwood Church. Cardinal Ventures, Frampton Construction Begin Work on S.C. Community

Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a full-service construction firm with offices in Charleston, S.C. and Charlotte, N.C., recently announced it has joined with Cardinal Ventures to bring another assisted living and memory care community to the state of South Carolina.

The Blake at Carnes Crossroads is the second project Frampton has teamed with Ridgeland, Miss.-based senior living developer Cardinal Ventures. The project is a sister community to The Blake at Woodcreek Farms, which is currently under construction by Frampton in Elgin, S.C.

Part of the namesake of both communities derives from Blake Management Group (BMG), the management company of Cardinal Ventures.

The Blake at Carnes Crossroads is an 88,000-square-foot, 100-unit assisted living and memory care community strategically located to enjoy the attractions of both Summerville and Goose Creek.

Sitting just 20 miles northwest of Charleston, S.C., The Blake began construction on March 31 and is scheduled to be complete by May of 2017.

The Blake will be a premier anchor for the new Carnes Crossroads master planned community, a 3.7 acre site developed by Daniel Island Company, which includes medical offices, shops, restaurants, a school, parks and a church.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: A modern senior living experience is making its way to the Charleston area, offering a new tradition in care. The Blake at Carnes Crossroads will offer exciting opportunities to the area’s seniors and their families. Groundbreaking is imminent and The Blake at Carnes Crossroads is scheduled to open in early 2017.

Cardinal Ventures, based in Mississippi, is developing this 88,000 square-‐foot building which will feature suites outfitted for comfortable, safe, and enjoyable senior living. The assisted living options include both two bedroom units and one bedroom units. The memory support facility focusing on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care will feature both studio and one-‐bedroom units.

“We chose this Summerville location for many reasons,” says Harrison Young of Cardinal Ventures, the architect and developer of The Blake at Carnes Crossroads. “Summerville was listed in the Top 25 Places to Retire by CNN Money due to its affordability and medical centers and Carnes Crossroads, where The Blake will be located, is a master planned community developed by the Daniel Island Company that will offer medical offices, shops, restaurants, parks, a school, and a church. It was a perfect fit.”
